City of Fountain City Notice of Candidate Filing
In order to be eligible for an elective city office a person must be a resident elector of the city at least 28 days before the election. Wis. Stat. secs. 62.09(2)(a) and 6.02(1). Thus, a person may file nomination papers as a candidate for the office of alderperson even if that person does not currently reside in the city as long as he or she will be a resident of the city within 28 days of the election date.
Opening date for municipal candidate filing: December at 8:00 AM
Closing date for municipal candidate filing: January by 5:00 PM.
Nomination papers can be picked up at city hall, 42 N Main Street, Fountain City, WI 54629.
When to vote:
All voters who have property registered to vote or are already registered in the City of Fountain City can arrive at the polling place as early as 7:00 AM when the polls officially open. The polls remain open throughout the day, closing at 8:00 PM.
